The Karate Kid

As we wait for Awesome Buttons to make his grand arrival, there has already been plenty of opportunities to compare him to his big brother and sister.  A trend that will likely continue between the three kids over the span of their lives :)  Brooke and Ryan are so different in so many ways, we cant help but wonder if their littlest sibling will take on the personality traits of one or the other ... of if he too will find a way to completely differentiate himself from the other two.

One thing is for certain, Awesome Buttons is going to come out fighting.  He's been overly active since the very beginning.  He's been all over the place for every ultrasound, and the doctors have a hard time finding his heart-rate on the doppler because he moves so much.  He also has clocked a 160 heart rate every time they check it, which I've been told is high (most stats suggest 160 is at the highest end of the normal range).  They explain his rate is so high "because he's moving right now".  BUT HE'S ALWAYS MOVING!

At 28 weeks, he weighs only about 2 1/4-1/2 lbs, yet his movements hurt so much I often double over in pain.  Assuming he's on the path of his siblings, by the end of this pregnancy he'll be 9+ lbs.  I cannot even imagine what this little powerhouse is going to do to my insides when he is 3-4X his current size. I think I understand a bit what Bella Swan was feeling (sorry for the Twilight reference!).

He definitely is stronger and more active than his bigger siblings.  I'm not sure if they are ready for him ... but he sure seems ready for them ;)
