Girls on the Run 5K

All Smiles in the AM

Brookes Coach Wished them Luck on Channel 5

Raining Before Race, But Spirits Good!
After months of training with Girls on the Run, we awoke to a freezing and raining morning on the day of the event. The girls tried to be optimistic, but it was miserable. Many of our girls, and many others along the race, were crying. They were wet & cold.

We finished and it was pouring. We had to run for the car. We decided to run though a field ... which was not only as wet as a lake, but covered with goose poop. Honestly, it was a horrible event. I'm so glad we ran races before this one so that Brooke knew it was an anomoly. I bet others girls that ran today will never run again after this experience ;)

Proud of all of our girls for being so tough & strong!

Ryan Turns 6

Ryan had an insanely busy 6th birthday, starting with a morning soccer game!
After Game Lake Photo Op
Followed by lunch, and gametime, at Dave & Busters. It was our first time there, and all three kids were really overwhelmed. Luke couldnt stand still, he just rapidly ran from machine to machine in a panic.

It was mostly all about guns...

A little skee ball, with a delighted hop
Staring in awe
... and more staring in awe
And guns, again ;)

Legoland Pre Birthday Celebration

Kids had off school for an institute day, which was a perfect opportunity to kick off Ryan's birthday weekend.

Legoland is, without a doubt, Ryan's favorite place He actually wanted to go to the one in
California ... but today we hit up Schaumburg instead.
Checking out the mini-build area
Being silly
Making friends with some life size Lego characters
Went to a 4D Movie. It was Luke's 1st experience. He both loved it and hated it. But, asked to go again, so I think love>hate.
The kids also went on a "helicopter" ride. This was definitely Brooke's favorite.
She must have gone on at least 4 times.
