The Name Game

Brooke has been randomly suggesting names for Baby # 3 as time progresses.  Usually these are out-of-the-blue suggestions that relate nothing to the current conversation.

For a time period she was convinced we were going to name him Buttons.  She was so sure she told others that her new brothers name would be Buttons.  She has also suggested Awesome, Cole, Frank and Bubbles.

Its funny how she will throw out a real name and some completely random word-as-a-name, often in the same conversation.  I'm sure she has never met anyone named Awesome or Bubbles, yet believes both would be great names for her little brother.

Today when she suggested "Bubbles", she explained it was a good name because babies like Bubbles.  While that's true, I'm not quite positive just because you like something you'd want to adopt that as a name.  If that were the case, I'm pretty sure my name would be Pastry, Chocolate, or Cider :)

Ryan: We miss Wrigley
Mom & Dad: Yeah
Ryan: Can we get a cat?

First Day of 2014, Fun In The Snow

We started the new year off with some sledding ... right into the parking lot (I swear, there was no traffic!)

But there were a few parked cars, luckily Daddy helped pull a near miss during a side-car-style run ;)

The kids did quite a few runs down the path

And followed up with King/Queen of the Mountain ... and a daring mountain rescue!

The kids had a blast and were willing to stay out there even longer, but I eventually had to bribe with some hot chocolates in order to get them inside. It was a great way to spend the first day of 2014!
