This is Ryan's last holiday/winter assembly (in 3rd grade they no longer do them!). We bid on (and won) some seats right up in front at the Gala, so this year we actually got to see the show. It was great!

Luke's First Time Ice Skating

We took the kids to the skating rink at Wrigley Field. It was Luke's first time skating, and it definitely was not easy. Jeff had to hold/carry him the whole time. After skating we had a fun dinner and then waited for the bus to head home. And waited. And waited.

It was late already and the kids started to lose it. After forever waiting we decided we had to walk home. Luke was "so tired" he could not walk and I had to carry him all the way from Wrigley. Luckily (sarcasm font) he got a burst of energy when we hit our street (after I carried him for a mile) and ran home from the corner with Brooke and Ryan.

We waited for the bus forever. It never came. The kids got crazy. We had to walk home.

The Kid Who "Doesn't Need A Nap"

Luke HATES school because he HATES rest time. And he is sure he does not need rest time. He does not need a nap. Yet, when they try to wake him up after nap, its essentially impossible. Here, the entire class was lit and all the kids were noisy. All the cots had been put away. Yet, here he sleeps.

Hawks Win Game 2

Second game similar to first - Hawks win 18-2. Brooke made an attempt at the basket and had a block ... so she's already learning the game.

Basketball!

After a series of failed practices due to a lack of access to the gym ... the Audubon Hawks played their first game without rehearsal and sheer intuition. And they won! 8 - 1.

Brooke had so much fun she decided to skip ice skating and stay for the second game of the tournament ;)

Ryan's Kids Minecraft Party

To the suprise of nobody, Ryan decided to host his kids party at Power Up Tech Academy so that he and his friends could play Minecraft for 2 hours ;)

Ryan decided to have a cookie cake versus a traditional cake or cupcakes. This seems to be a pretty big pattern with our family lately. I think we are caked-out.

Ryan's First Concert

Took Ryan to his first show, thinking he would be so excited to see some of his favorite singers in person. He was excited to be there, but not thrilled to see them all on stage. Seemed to him that it wasn't a big deal to have 6 acts just a few feet away. I was impressed, however. And I was also quite disappointed when he got tired and wanted to go home only 1/2 way through the show. He also had a bit of a stomach ache ... likely due to the popcorn, Sprite and Skittles ;)
