The kids asked what a disease is and we were talking about it. Brooke proclaimed that a disease makes you die. I told her not always.

Ryan determined a disease can make you blind. Like Helen Keller.

He then asked me:
"Is that how you got blind? A disease?"

Thanksgiving in the U.P.

Too the drive to the Upper Peninsula to spend Thanksgiving with some never-met cousins. The kids were shocked they were related to all the kids, and fascinated by the camp and the land and the snow ... and just, all of it. Was a memorable trip!

Luke was upstairs closing doors, and I had to hunt him down. Finally, I found him in the bathroom, by himself, with two closed doors. I asked why he had the doors closed and advised him he isn't allowed to do that.

He responded "I need privacy"
