Vocabulary Hat Parade

Ryan's grade (and some bigger grades) participated in a vocabulary hat parade today at school. Ryan chose the word "explosion" and his hat was filled with sticks of dynamite and onomatopoeia;)

Pumpkin Carving

Brooke and Luke scooped most of the guts out all by
themselves. This is a pretty big change from previous
years where she wouldnt come within 10 feet of it.
Ryan continued to keep his 10 foot radius ;)

Science!

Luke went to a birthday party today where he got to conduct some science experiments. They pretty much all had to do with slime in some form or other. Perfect!

Little Picasso: Hawk Walk Edition

Luke drew this at school. He is the one on the bottom in the center, walking. The characters up higher are the spectators, with Mom and Dad being the 2 that aren't scratched or scribbled out. I asked why we had sad faces and he told me he forgot to make happy faces ;)

Brooke & Ryan Family Birthday Party

We had a double-birthday party in Michigan for our now 9-year-old and soon to be 7-year-old. All the Schneider Family came and everyone had a blast!

Hawk Walk 2018

The preschoolers walked half way around the school. Sure, it was a bit drizzly. However, it was a pretty short walk ... even in the lousy weather!

The weather this year was not cooperative. Cold and rainy, the kids were a bit less then thrilled. Luke's class only walked a short bit and all seemed in great spirits. Brooke's class definitely noticed the lousy weather - at least Brooke did ;)

Jeff's Birthday

Jeff's birthday falls right in the middle of Brooke and Ryan's birthdays. Because of that it gets pretty downplayed. He barely even gets to blow out his own candles ;)

Sound Recording Experts

Brooke went to the museum with Lilly and Kyla and the girls practiced some sound recording.

Great Wolf Day 2

The kids all woke up early (as early as 6:30am) and the pool didnt open until 9:00am. Because they had many hours to get ready, they were first in line for the pool. When it was time to open, they were the first in line for all the water slides.

A few frustrated times deciding who would ride with each other, but mostly slides all day!

The hotel had a Halloween theme and celebration. The boys were pretty impressed with this wall prop. Most of the other stuff didn't really catch their attention. In fact, I'm not sure they even noticed the Halloween theme.

Great Wolf Lodge Birthday Celebration

As part of Brooke's birthday celebration we went to the Great Wolf Lodge with some trampoline friends. The first night we played in the pool and went on some water slides, and then met everyone for dinner. After dinner the kids insisted on going BACK to the pool. We stayed there until we closed the place down. That night, Brooke got to have a sleepover in Anna and Amelias room. It was a good night for all.

Autubon Summer Reading Celebration

Brooke has been at this celebration every year since preschool. We thought Luke was going to get to go this year but they changed the plan at the last minute and didnt invite the preschoolers. Oh well! He didnt seem to notice and Brooke always feels very honored to get to attend this special event.

Brooke read enough pages (750+) to qualify for this years Summer Reading Celebration. She's been every year since preschool. Unfortunately, this year preschoolers didn't get an invite ... but Luke did his reading too ;)

Happy Birthday Brooke! 10 Years Old!

Brooke chose to eat dinner at Commonwealth to celebrate her big 10th birthday. We followed dinner with ice cream cake (which her and Dad had to hunt all over for) and presents. The boys both got her squishies and we got her oil pastels. The big gift was her Verizon watch ... which enables her to call and text us (and us her). It wasnt quite the phone she asked for, but she was thrilled!

She addressed this to Mom, Dad & Ryan ... my guess is it's from Christmas 2013. When our now 10 year old (!) was half her age ;)
