River Float Trip

Getting ready to drop our floats into the Toccoa River wtih Blue Ridge Tubing!

Some people were very excited

Some people were a little cranky

Some people were ... unmoved

We held hands to keep together during floating. Ryan had a hard time getting together with us, mostly because he was pouting ;)

Finally I connected with him and we stayed together for the rest of the trip. This made a little smile.

We’re on a Boat

                                 

Spent the day on Lake Blue Ridge in a rented pontoon boat. There was a small storm while we were out, but the kids honestly had such a great time that that rain added to the fun of the experience. All three agreed this was even better than rafting! 

 

   

          

Amicalola Falls

               

Today we visited (and hiked) the Amicalola Falls, in Dawsonville Georgia. Although the Appalachian Trail begins on the top of Springer Mountain, there is an 8.8 mile "approach trail" that starts at Amicalola Falls. This is because the actual beginning of the trail is not accessable by car, so many actually start here!

The climb to the top of the falls was pretty intense. From the bottom there are 604 steps, with a landing/access point halfway. We actually started 1/2 way, went all the way up, then went all the way down and back up again. I cant even count how many steps that was!
